Paying for care services is often a concern for most families. If the person receiving care has savings or assets above a certain level, they will typically be required to cover some or all of their care costs.
You can request a local authority means test that will involve a complete financial assessment. Your local council may provide financial assistance for care if you don't have enough money.
If you receive partial funding you will need to "top up" the remainder. In this situation this gives you autonomy to choose the type of care that is right for you.
Residential Care Vs Care at Home
The price of living in a nursing home includes nursing care. Consider the expense of staying there, including both the cost of accommodation and the cost of care.
If you paid for all your care in a care home, it could cost around £60,000, depending on your health needs.
Choosing home care allows you to stay in your own home. This is good for your well-being. It can also save money.
Home care enables you to stay in a familiar environment. It allows you to maintain your daily habits, like meal schedules and food preferences. You can also enjoy outdoor walks, engage in hobbies, socialize with friends, and explore your neighborhood. Your caregiver will understand you and assist you in living life according to your preferences.
Highly trained professionals at Severn Vale Care often specialise in areas like dementia care. We meticulously match them to your requirements and hobbies. This helps you make choices that fit your care needs and lifestyle, with help from your caregiver. This could potentially lead to enhanced motivation and overall contentment.
The cost of visiting care varies based on the number of hours per day. It can range from 30-minute visits to round-the-clock live-in care.
At Severn Vale, our prices are clear and honest, with no hidden fees. You only pay for the care you require, making it easier to plan your budget.
This can make it easier to manage a personal budget compared to care home costs.
In this situation, you won't have to pay extra fees for staying in Care Homes. Instead, you can live in your own house.
