Visiting Care to help your everyday life
Home care encompasses any care provided in your home, visiting care specifically involves a care professional coming to your home at scheduled times during daytime hours.
Like all types of home care, visiting care offers the tailored support you need whilst staying in the comfort and familiarity of your home. As well as personal care, assistance with medication and help around the home It can also include trips out to visit friends, a garden centre, or other community events.
Visiting care can start with just one 30-minute visit a week, then progress to several visits a day depending on individual need.
As everyone is unique, it is natural that health and circumstances are different for each person. We tailor your care package to meet your specific needs. You may require assistance with preparing your favourite meal, tidying a cupboard you've been meaning to get to for years, or assistance with medication or personal care tasks like showering or going to the bathroom. Visting Care Options
Visiting care can fall into several categories. We tailor your care to meet your unique needs and situation. When you call our local office, you will be able to speak with one of our friendly management team. We will then arrange a visit at your home to discuss how we can help you and create a care plan for you. Our goal is to provide you with the necessary support to enable you to live as independently and as comfortably as possible.
Our services for visiting care include:
Elderly Care
Whilst we all look forward to retirement, few of us look forward to the changes we face as we age. Severn Vale provides dedicated support, tailored to these challenges. This is with the goal of making life at home as meaningful, safe, and as fulfilling as possible.
Respite Care
If you have been experiencing problems with mobility, you might well need support for a short period perhaps following an operation or illness. This might involve help with your personal routines, such as bathing, toileting, and getting dressed. Visiting care professionals can help you in a discreet and dignified way.
Companionship
Humans, by nature, belong in groups rather than alone. Too much time on our own is not beneficial for our mental health or emotional well-being. Care is not just about looking after someone’s body and physical health; it’s also about valuing companionship and mental health. Our Care Professionals are bright, engaging, and interesting to talk to and will take an interest in you and the things you enjoy.
Urgent Care
If someone has a fall or something unexpected happens health-wise, we can all need urgent care. When this happens, you might just need a bit of extra help for a week or two, until recovery has happened. This is where Severn Vale care professionals can step in to help with everyday tasks that might suddenly and unexpectedly become challenging.
Personal Care
We would all like to wake up looking like a glamorous Hollywood movie star from the 1950s; however, the reality for most of us is quite different! As we age it can become more challenging to feel clean and well presented as our ability to move may become more restricted. Our team of care professionals can help, provide discreet support with your daily routines.
Domestic Assistance
Regardless of our age, everyone could benefit from a little additional assistance. Unlike a cleaning service, our care professionals are happy to help in any way they can, such as, prepare a meal, pop out to do the weekly shop, pick up a prescription, or help with the laundry.
“We feel like finding Severn Vale has given us our lives back – we were drowning – the rapid onset of dementia for my husband’s mum was all-consuming, we are a small family so everything was on myself and my husband’s shoulders – then I called Severn Vale.
Mother-in-law has always been a difficult lady so to be honest I didn’t hold out too much hope – but I was wrong – she loves the girls- adores them.
They are friendly, kind, calm, prompt, clean and very helpful mowing the lawn – walking the dog – taking her to co-op -washing her clothes – nothing is too much trouble. We honestly cannot fault them or sing their praises any more than I do already. 100% would recommend.”

Locations For Home Care Visits
Visiting care is for adults of all ages and abilities, but as we age, the need for assistance typically increases, making the below statistics on the local aging population particularly interesting.
Visiting Care Malvern
Malvern Hills District, has a higher-than-average proportion of residents aged 65 and over compared to the national average. This is no surprise for anyone who lives in Malvern, as it is a beautiful, elegant and peaceful place, packed full of history & culture, with the backdrop to the tunning Malvern hills and direct rail links to London.
Approximately 28-30% of the population in Malvern Hills District is aged 65 or older. This is higher than the national average for England, which is around 18-19%. This means that approximately 21,560 to 23,100 residents in Malvern Hills District are aged 65 or older.
Visiting Care Worcester
Approximately 16-18% of Worcester's population is aged 65 or older. This would translate to roughly 16,000 to 18,000 residents over the age of 65 living in Worcester.
Approximately 120,000 to 132,000 people (20-22% of the population) in Worcestershire are aged 65 or older, which is a huge number compared to those who are living in Worcester or Malvern alone. Worcestershire has some beautiful countryside, with stunning villages with country pubs and naturally is a wonderful place to enjoy when retired.
Understanding these numbers and statistics can give us an indication as to why visiting care services are so important to the local residents, which include those not just in the city of Worcester or the town of Great Malvern & Malvern Link, but also the wider rural areas.
